Another fine painting of the Ocean Suzanne. I like how the sand and sea grass frame out the water in the foreground and the way you created the moving water and different shades of blue.
Beautiful view Suzanne.

This is an interesting spot you choose. I can see the waves rushing in from the sea. The sea seems angry, there are white caps even far out near the horizon. The part of beach shown seems to get flooded sometimes. There is a ditch with reeds growing on its walls which looks like the incoming water created it. The colors are pleasant and realistic, truth the picture looks dark on my screen, but I think this is either due to the digitization or the upload of the painting.

Many thanks for your very nice review, Cleo. I think it may look dark because when I photographed the painting I took it in natural light and it was late afternoon! Suzanne

Well done! This is a beautiful painting. The horizon line in the distance is not completely even but you did a beautiful job with the details and blended all of the colors together beautifully. You were very creative :) thanks for sharing :)

Suzanne,
A beautiful living picture of Spurn Point the wind whistling & lashing the north sea into a froth with waves breaking even before they hit the shore, the bushes & marram grass in the sand dunes tossed about by the wind. The clouds racing across the heaven with glimpses of hills/dales in the far distance. And I can feel the spray on my face & taste the salt on my lips! Beautiful & artistic composition, created with very skilful brush work choice, blending & application of your colours.

Many thanks, Susan, for your really lovely review and excellent rating. I always appreciate the way you look closely at a painting and get what I try to portray. Suzanne

Suzanne,
I felt as if I were stainding there watching the North sea do it's worst much more interesting to watch than a flat calm sea under bright sunlight...though better for bathing in>

Wonderful color and wonderful lighting. Seems like early evening or early morning. The use of oil paint adds a wonderful bit of drama to the scene. Great moment over the sea. Thanks for sharing.

This is truly beautiful Suzanne - and your artist notes are both informative and offer history; thank you. I'm really drawn to the whitecaps on the water and the attention to tone / color in the sand of the foreground. You have depicted a very magical place indeed. Kathy

This is very nice, so natural looking, love the churning see and clouds in the background, the beach looks like its waiting for the sea to calm down, love the perspective of the grass naturally trying to grow in the sandy soil, the land in the background, love your colours of the sky, water, and beach
