What a shot sg! ...and perfect notes to go along w/ it. I always appreciate your notes....oh and your titles too.
Crisp sharp focus on both tentacles and body....so well detailed. I'd only seen these before on television and your photo actually shows it much better here. Well exposed and nicely cropped.
Definitely an unusual post here sg. Good for you for getting us such a good shot.

Wow I would not have guessed that this isn't a jellyfish. It still makes an interesting picture all the same. Your focus, framing, and lighting are all good. Well done and thanks for sharing :)

It is almost strange to think of that this beautiful creature is so dangerous. It almost looks like if it was made by light blue silk, and you have captured such a fine shine in it. It is also standing out really well from the sand, and I like the close and personal approach.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the polyp. Fine silky textures as well, and a perfect exposure.
The cropping is working really well and the polyp is well placed within the frame. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo and with a very good DOF.

It seems that, like women, the more beautiful they are the more dangerous. A very fine shot with outstanding colors and excellent details.

Very good photo here! I love the bright blue of the man of war against the light sand. The lighting is great and helps to show off that difference. Good closeness and clarity of the picture shares the soft details of the man of war nicely. Good shot!

Thank you for your informative notes with this excellent close up of the Portuguese man'o war. I like the composition of this with the tendrils of seaweed adding interest. Excellent lighting and focus showing great detail in the markings. Very interesting shot. Suzanne

Hi supergold,
What a rare contribution this is to the postings list. I have heard of these creatures but never really investigated what they looked like so this is exciting for me to view. Thanks for sharing! R
