Lovely soft composition of this Hibiscus flower in bloom. I like your soft subdued colours on the petals and leaves and the remainder in b & w. Not quite sure what's the image on the left is but it does add interest. Great focus.

Thank you much for your encouraging review
The image on the left was another branch of the hibiscus before I distorted it. In its original it was distracting because it was damaged by eating insects.

The subtlest color I've ever seen here!
Why is it too pale?
Aptly captured for the contest theme...if enhanced a bit.
Fine details, features &
textures.
Tall format works well here.
Impressive b&w rendition. Excellent tonal range.
Nice modifcation.
Good lighting & framing. Thanks for sharing...

Thank you very much.
The contest host answered to the threads at the entry page that only a small splash of color is allowed. If I understand that right he means not much color or pale or faded colors.

I'm just concerned about the voters...

I am not. I do not post to win, but to fill up the winning pot for those who do.

An attractive image of the flower and buds. I am not so crazy about the distorted background but the colors are beautiful and the flower is elegant. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you very much for your comments.
The background was distracting. There are probably other possibilities, but that is what I thought of.

An interesting presentation of flower. Edit works well to share the beauty of this hibiscus in a different way. Letting soft color of the petals and leaves calls attention to whole flower.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Wow. What an entry. I really like the image. The soft/quaint colors in the black and white. Details are sharp. Focus is crisp. DOF is wonderful. Best of luck and thanks for sharing.

Stunning b/w. The lighting control is terrific. The spot of color only shows up on my screen as black. So if that was the color, it works. The DOF of the bloom is almost 3D. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much for you comments and wishes.
Please look again, there should be a trace of pink at the hibiscus petals and some traces of green in the leaves and a fine line of green in the left upper corner. If you cannot see it, I did something wrong. So please let me know about.

Know you use the word trace I can almost see the pink and the hint of green. I had to enlarge the main photo to see the color. In the small review shot, I can't see any colors. SORRY!

Thank you, It seems I have to give it some more. Not easy because the contest allow 10% or so, I have to check.
