A fine shot. The eye is fantastic and the detail in the plumage is excellent. I like the raised foot and the duckweed choked water makes a nice background.

I admire the way they walk and stalk but with their well spread feet it has easy balance and confidence. Great capture of heron with its serious look backed by that thick green pond weed.I think a tad more sharpness would boost detail especially at legs. Nice iridescent plumage caught here.

I'm liking your picture of this interesting specimen strutting along over the half-submerged branches a lot too,Envision!
It's a great looking picture by anyone's measure and there's a very enjoyable 'slightly mysterious' look about the bird that's just plain fascinating!

the duckweed is a nice backdrop and your positioning is very good here.

Grace, the colors are true on this guy, that is worth a 5 on its own.
the stop action could have been better, but I know you are learning (from the best as I have) and you will get that right with time.

Thank you very much. She is the best! This is a pre-Sange photograph. I wont get to see these guys or any herons until Spring. Very excited to get back out there and get that stop action :)

Your focus is good, but should be sharper.
