Ha! She certainly has your attention Grace!
You did a fine job on focus and details. I only would have lightened the eye on the left.
She is cute in her own way and I believe a first head on shot of a sloth here with eyes open.
:)

Thank you! She does have an unusual looking face. I like your phrase 'cute in her own way' that's a good description :)

the critter is giving you look like it is saying.."our lips are soooooo close!" lolol. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the critters facial is great. the clarity is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

I am so happy she wasn't sleeping when this photo was taken, because you have captured her lovely brown eyes so well. I especially like the close and personal approach with the tight framing, and also the all neutral background.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the face, and also fine textures in the fur. The light is falling on the face in a lovely way, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and cropping is really good and Chloe has got a very fine placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

A very nice shot with fine detail in her eyes and nose. Just out of curiosity is this shot flipped top to bottom? It might be rare to catch them with eyes open but even more rare to find one upright.

Thank you! Yes, I rotated the image to give a better view of her face. You are correct about her not being upright very often. I have seen her on her back, and curled forward sleeping and hanging upside down to get at her romaine lettuce. She does sleep in a kind of slumped over upright position but doesn't actually sit upright often - not that I have seen.

a wonderful and such unusual capture of Chloe the sloth with her sleepy eyes open;
she looks like an old lady with white hairs;
outstanding sharp focus;

What an extremely beautiful capture. That look on her face is ever so grand and moving. So sweet and accepting. Great lighting here with wonderfully natural color as well. Great focus of this adorable lady. Thanks for sharing.

Sloths are slow moving so you did not loose clarity here with the lower exposure time.
Very nice clarity throughout your shot Grace.
I love the tight crop with dark background. It looks very creative and artistic!

Great capture of Chloe the Sloth with her eyes open. I like how you filled the frame with just a touch of contrasting dark background. Excellent lighting and focus showing great clarity and detail in her markings. Very good composition. Suzanne

Wish I had a head of hair like Chloe--well maybe not so much of the facial growth. A real good eye contact you have captured with a lethargic look as you would expect from sloth. Is that a hint of it sticking tongue out at us, that could be five minutes to complete.Detail on facial features are marvellous with long haired arm below to create a relaxed portrait.
