Thank you for the nightmares! Beautiful shot, you capture more detail in the spider than I want to see. You also capture great detail in the flower. The spider is the star, but putting it in context helps.

Oh these are absolutely THE coolest spiders EVER Bill! They stalk their prey rather than catching it in webs AND they can turn yellow! Such impressive little guys...lol Anyway, do really appreciate you going back and having a look at this one. Thank you so very much.

I HATE USING OTHER COMPUTERS THAT ARE NOT MINE. I JUST TYPED AN EXTENSIVE REVIEW AND IT JUST DISAPPEARED AS I HIT THE SAVE BUTTON. YET IT IS NOWHERE. I am running out of users' time on this computer I am borrowing at this moment....SHEESH. I cannot replicate what I said either....ARGH...I get so upset with technology. It is great when it works, but when it does not, I start getting upset. ARGH again.
Before I must give this computer back, let me just reiterate that I like this spider. Is the white stuff on the flower a part of his cobweb of sorts. That what it looks like to me, but I could be mistaken. He almost looks translucent except for the total white part which really stands out in your photo. He looks almost alien with one eye in the center towards the front and those two little antennas able to transmit all of us humans words and thoughts. He was sent here on a mission to see if earth is a place where they can exist and take over each flower garden to the extreme without any problems.....That is the story I am thinking as I look at your photo, which is by the way, a good. It has exceptional clarity, contrast, saturation; not to mention the lighting is perfect. It almost has that 3D effect where if I reach out, I could pluck it from its stem and take it with me....leaving that alienistic spider behind....He does not need to read my thoughts (HeeHee)....Oops my time is up. EXCELLENT!

You write absolutely the most delightful reviews EVER Katharina. Yes....the bit of white on the flower is something the spider left although these guys actually stalk and attack their prey rather than catching them in their webs. Way cool isn't it? They can also change color....be yellow or white. I have photos of them when they're yellow too. Just one of the coolest spiders around I think. I am sorry you lost your entire first review so I doubly appreciate you going back and doing it all over again. Thank you soooo very much. You are a sweetie!!

Yowza... what a great shot. Sharp and clear detail throughout. I really like the lighting ... Off camera flash, ring light? Did you use a macro lens? What time of day? As you can tell I like the genre. Whenever the chance to learn from a master comes along, i take it.

This ones a treasure.

Peglegdeb, look out.

lol...why you are very kind Bob. In my gardens after dark....w/ believe it or not just an industrial size flashlight and a reg 14-42mm lens on my Olympus. I often shoot my flowers this way....they look so different from the daytime images of them. I really do appreciate you going and checking this one out. Have this spider in yellow too....yup...they can change colors. How cool is THAT!! Thanks so much for the review Bob.

Pretty shot, well focused and exposed. I would consider playing with an even tighter crop closer to the center of the flower and the spider.

I rarely chop my flowers Eva. Do have many photos of this intricate seed head however. Appreciate you checking this one out...and your thoughts. Thanks so much.

Wonderful photo of a white Spider on a purple flower. Spider are one of my favorite creatures, but I don't think I ever saw one before that was this white.
Great close up with lots of fine details and the sunlight reflecting of the spider's back segment. The lovely purple flower show him off perfectly.

a very nice capture Deb,
as I enjoy the color of the LAVATERA as it seems to be fading as the spider looks great and must have been funny to see rear it's legs not wanting to be bothered. thank you for sharing.
always,
ron

Well that is unusual way to put it gg but I suppose anything that ISN'T supposed to be there could be called a 'cancer' At any rate...do appreciate you having a look at my post. Thanks so very much for the review.

Another grand photo. Interesting spider. it has a greenish gray hue, but it almost looks translucent. Interesting it has a milky white body and the stripes on it appear rust colored. Your focus is always so good and allows me to see such detail. Thanks for sharing.

You might be interested to hear Gail that these guys (the females actually) can change color...go between white or yellow. Just too cool isn't it! I have photos of yellow ones too. Anyway...thanks so much for having a look and giving such a lovely review. I do appreciate the very nice things you said.
