All though this spider completely creeps me out, you did a great job with the photo. Despite it being nighttime, you did a good job with the focus, framing, and lighting. I just don't like spiders lol. Thanks for sharing.

lol...oh you were not the first one to say that cs. A couple of other reviewers said they could barely look at my photo. So an extra big thank you for having a look and giving it such a nice review. I do appreciate it. I have the same guy in yellow....ahahaha...perhaps I'll wait a bit to post him.

Love the purple; nice highlighting on the petals; the focus is always good; the flower pops out against the bit of green. Got a photogenic spider there I see; looks big up close LOL; not sure how I missed it the first time I looked; the yellow center adds a nice contrast and helps it all shine. Great work as usual. God a good shot at the contest.

I have her in yellow too swimmer. They can actually change color....isn't that something!! Not sure which of them is more photogenic. Thank you so much for the very generous review and rating. Am always happy when you review one of my pieces.

I just love these crab spiders. I remember seeing one on an eggplant leaf stalking a crane fly that was many times his size. A great shot with fine lighting and superb colors. The flower is beautiful and the spider really makes it exceptional.

I couldn't agree more mm. They are really something...stalking their prey rather than using a web to catch it.... quite the little hunters aren't they! I was very happy to be able to go back and label all the photos I have of them. I have several where they are bright yellow....they can change color as well! I wasn't sure how well my little guy here would be received so I am so happy for the wonderful review you gave it and, of course for the extra sparkle. Thank you so much mm.

I think it is a goldenrod spider as the upper part is virtually transparent. Great shot of the spider and the flower is a wonderful vibrant contrast. Like the seedhead too :) Great lighting and focus.

Misumena vatia or commonly known as Goldenrod Crab Spider.
This spider is an ambush hunter, lying patiently in wait on flowers for an insect to come within striking range. Adult females may be overall yellow or white, with the ability to change back and forth. This species can conquer surprisingly large prey like bees and butterflies.
Your focus is pin sharp on the Lady Spider and most of the flower. White balance is superb and the diagonal like placement tight crop works well.
Great camera techs and superb spider details Doc.
Nice work!!!

Wow! What a shot you got here. This is a magnificent flower who has an intruder that you caught so perfectly upon its beautiful petal. You couldn't have timed it more perfectly. What a catch!
Absolutely delightful.
