By utilizing pastels on black paper really make the colors no longer pastel to me; they look more of a bold darker matte type coloring. Your title of your painting, memories won't go away, really surprised me. I thought for sure you would have entitled it "memories won't drown" to follow the quote which I read at least three times.... unless of course that is the title of a poem or writing from this person which I have to look up.... Dragon Crenshaw.... because this quote seems like it's part of something bigger....a poem or other writing works. Is your painting your own version of what this quote is saying to you; that perhaps those memories are so dark and that's why this painting is so dark and no matter what you try those memories will not die? I like the close cropping of this painting and to me it is a real deep painting which matches the real deep quote. You did an excellent job and I wish you the best at the voting booth. Thanks so much for sharing.

Actually I do the painting first with a certain feeling which slowly evolves as I proceed and then 'fix' a title and choose a poem to match the work and the feelings! Thank you for taking your time to rate and comment on my painting. I do appreciate it

Wow~ A very dramatic abstract! I like it very much. The colors are vibrant but yet limited in hues. This adds more effect I think since there isn't a cacophony of different colors. You have sustained the drama and mystery that goes along with the chosen prose in your artist notes. A very commendable work of art. Thanks for sharing.
