this is quite a good shot,and the red beak does stand out from the greyish background which I presume is water,my only thing in this is the white on the body is blown out slightly...brian

Most excellent focus here. That head especially is spot on crisp....beautiful eye and the beak is perfectly detailed as well. I know that's water in the background as you say he's swimming by you but I might have not otherwise....different looking water. Was it a stormy day?? Most of that big white body is well exposed. Perhaps just a tad bright at top of head and along body but nevertheless it is a wonderful close-up of this very pretty bird.

What a great shot you have made here. I am sure that there is very little I can say that has not already been said about this. The duck is so well accented by the background water which has that wonderful sheen to it. Simply a great work NIKMAN ~ Steve

This is instantly stunning to look at. Real good focus and detail on head and neck. That red bill is special right down to tiny drip at tip. Your background is both unusual and really brings out the beauty of the subject. I am sure I have seen this species at Minsmere or Slimbridge when camping around two years ago cannot remember which one but it is a beautiful member of swan family.
