This photo shows a nice contrast with the white butterfly and dark background. The spots are very detailed. It would be nice to see a more dark background all green or black.

Another great photograph of a brilliant butterfly (I suspect from the same photographer!) - again, great clarity, colour and positioning - great work.

You know what I like about this capture? You have given the stage completely to this lovely white butterfly's wings. You have let the shadows play their part naturally with the natural light of the day...yes? And it has played its magic on the wings and left the remainder of the scene in a gentle yet dark shadow...exposing just enough green to define the surroundings. Often times a butterfly shot shows the face and legs so clearly that the wings are almost secondary.. This one showcases the wings. I love the color white. And you have captured that beautifully here..with the patterns of browns and blacks and the detail of the veins in the wings. None of your colors are over saturated and your white is beautifully balanced. Very nice work! Good luck in the contest!

That's a good looking picture of this attractive Central American species of Butterfly!
It's interesting scientific name ( 'Polyphemus' being a famous Cyclopean monster of Greek mythology ) must have been inspired by the looks of the eye-like spots on it's wings!
'Good Show',my friend!

A really fine entry for this contest and a photo of a truly beautiful white butterfly. The background is also especially fine in this photo, and with the slight darkness and softness the butterfly is standing out from it in the most excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the butterfly, and both the exposure and white balance is perfect.
The cropping is working really well and the butterfly is perfectly placed off to the right. It is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Your description is a perfect review for this lovely image :) If only I could write those thoughts as eloquently. You have captured the beauty and detail of this butterfly very well. The white is superb.

This is perfect for a number of reasons. The focus is perfect and the sharpness in the butterfly and it's branch is excellent.
I also really like the framing and the fact that you took this as a closeup!
Awesome..
Standing and Clapping!
