This is a fantastic photo of a female Mallard in a blizzard. Poor thing, she is looking so cold, but this is indeed a great entry into this contest. I especially like the pose with the lifted wings, and also how well we can see the snow falling. You have also captured her eye in an excellent way.
Your photo is of course also nice and sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird, and especially the wings. I also think the exposure is spot on.
The cropping is just perfect, and the bird has got a very good placement within the frame. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. This is indeed a lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.
