What a wonderful capture of this fellow - your detail is amazing and perfectly played. Great natural color as well with the best in lighting. Fabulous exposure on this youngster. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I like his color of beak, head and body. Thanks for your note on this type of duck. It is educative.

Focus on this young guy is good. Droplets on his beautiful body look cool as well.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

So this is a technically sound shot with very good focus, exposure and color. I love the water drops on the duck. I think it could benefit for a more interesting, less centered crop, perhaps showing more of the environment and giving the duck room ahead to "swim" in to.

Thank you! I was just chatting with another FAR member about the cropping - thinking I should have maybe not centered the duck so much :) Thanks for your honest opinion!

A beautiful Maccoa Juvenile Drake in a heavy shower of rain with rain drops beading on it's glossy red brown plumage , black head & blue bill, it's foot seen clearly through the rippled water. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

You have indeed pictured this rare duck well, and it is quite special that the photo was taken when it was raining. The small droplets showing on the feathers are so well captured, and is doing this photo more than anything.

They are standing out so sharp and well defined and with a fine shine in them. Also the duck is standing out well showing fine details in the feathers, and the exposure is perfect.

The cropping is working well, and the duck has got a fine placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Wow! Beautiful scene of this Maccoa duck swimming in this downpour. Good stop action and good came techniques. So beautiful are his feathers and marking and he is showcased so nicely in this rain shower. Superb eye and beak clarity. Your framing is good too and photo well composted. This is nice work and thanks for sharing!

Good capture of this interesting species of duck. Your catch of rain falling is well noted from the droplets on its back to the many mini splashes in water.Straddled legs and feet add to the stillness of duck just floating taking in the heavy shower.
