What a moment to witness and capture Grace. It's almost as if he collapsed on that branch, gave a big sigh and said: oh finally Sweet Grace is here!
;)
Great eye clarity, fine focus and nice job on exposure/white balance.
Nice work Grace;)

    Thank you! I like this guy so much - I have tons of pictures of him. He poses so nicely for me. (I visit him every time I go to the zoo and spend a lot of time admiring him) and I am going to have to post at least one more :)

    I knew he recognized you!! Animals know sweet people... Do you have to shoot behind glass?
    Post a million shots...Who cares...So cute!!

    No glass - thank goodness. It's kind of a cool set up - you can see him from two levels opposite(kitty corner) of one another. He shares his space with a couple of Urials that he doesn't much like. They stay on the rocky ground, he stays among the trees.
    I like to think he recognizes me - lol! Thank you again for being so supportive :)

Love the red panda! Great expression captured also. They are super cute and i do remember seeing my first one at the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, MI when i was younger. Awesome focus and clarity on the furry face. Good job

    Thank you very much! This was my first time seeing one in person - way too cute!! Thank you again for your nice comments.

They are so different from what we associate with the well known black & white Giant species. Your informative intro lets me see why it would be part of weasel,skunks etc judging only by looks. good focus on this resting beauty.

an excellent close up of this sweet red panda in a relaxed pose;
unfortunately for them, in many zoos where I've seen some, they are close to the big mountain panda, so nobody looks at these ones;

    What a shame when these guys look so adorable! Those people don't know what they are missing :) Thank you for having a look!

Beautiful capture of this lovely Red Panda - I've never seen one of these but he looks adorable. I love the pose you caught with his paws dangling over the branch and his lovely little face with its bright eyes and mouth slightly open - he looks as if he's smiling at you for the photo. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

A beautiful picture of this totally relaxed Red Panda lying along a branch tail hanging down against the tree trunk it's chin resting on the branch while it watches you closely with little concern. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I must have missed the entry of the other FAR member because this is my first opportunity to see one (and get a little history about him as well).
You have managed to capture this zoo enclosed animal in the most precious of ways. I mean, look at him. He is just so adorable. Makes me want to pick him up and squeeze his little cheeks and give plenty of hugs before releasing him back onto his relaxing spot.
The photo is superb. The coloring, lighting, texture, contrast, highlights, shadows, saturation, hues, close cropping and overall composition are top notched. I wonder how long you stood there before getting this shot? Was it 20 minutes? An hour and 20 minutes? Or were you fortunate to walk where he was located and be at the right place at the right time? Either way.... excellent photography skills.... excellent photo. Thank you so much for sharing. I LOVE IT. I knew why I became a fan of yours.....you never disappoint.

    You are more than welcome. I read your personal message. Thanks.
    I love zoos. Whenever I go traveling for business or pleasure and no matter where it is, I go to their zoo. I spend hours upon hours watching the animals. Sometimes sitting in one spot hoping to see a glimpse of a particular one. I have been to zoos all over the world....even the one that was shown on the movie The Omen. I've been to ones on the hottest days in Arizona when no one else would be out tolerating the heat. In the rain; in the snow, on very cold days too....in Alaska, Hawaii, all around Europe just to name a few. The one I disliked the most was actually in San Antonio. When I visited this beautiful place, I was disappointed....it had an awful zoo...The only thing I liked about it was their butterflies.
    Sorry...I seemed to have gotten of the beaten track....time to save and send (smile).

I love it when models understand what the photographer is gunning for....you have a very cooperative model here.

Not only is she pretty but you shot her with sharpness on the eyes (and teeth) and what a smile.

Your cropping is good giving balance to the image and if other reviewers are telling you about the amputation of tail tell them to go and eat their lens caps for this image is all about emotion and you have caught it exactly.

Exposure well handled with no blow outs or block ups, detail of fur clearly seen. Contrast could have been a tad stronger but that is neither here nor there.

A warmhearted , posed (ahem) portrait.

    Thank you very much for your detailed comments and the six star rating! I just think this little one is most adorable :) His entire tail is in the shot, the tip of it just blends with the rust color in that tree. There is a little black mixed in at the tip but it doesn't show from this angle.
    BTW, I want to let you know that I have been waiting until Sunday to review your "Strummin'" so don't think that I am just returning the six. I have had the review written and ready to go for a couple days.
