Nice close up! great soft color and you captured the nice white light in the center. It has good depth and the pastel colors almost allow the viewer to sense the softness of the delicate flower. Nice job!

Debs - great interpretation of the Gladoli. Your notes completed my education ref this flower. Many years ago when I had a biggish garden I grew them in a multitude of bright flowers - great for cutting.
Your shot brings out the delicate nature of the flower head. I like the softness and use of lighting. Well done - Ronnie

    They last forever in a vase don't they Ronnie! I always enjoyed watching the progression as they opened and REALLY liked that when one blossom on the stem died I could just pinch it off and still have more!! lol...I may just have to give these guys another shot in my gardens. Always appreciate it when you check out one of my posts. Thanks so much.

This is a stunning capture of your Gladioli and I can just imagine them in your beautiful garden. They do add some work to the garden but after seeing this shot well worth the effort. The color of the flower is stunning as well, so beautiful are the white and lavender together. Nice sharp close up of the throat of this flower along with the stamen. Your colors, lighting, and details are excellent. Your framing is good and a nice DOF! This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

    Ya know Mary Lynn I could deal w/ the digging 'em up and storing them bit....it's the having to stake them that bothers me the most. Not even so much the extra work...it's more the way it LOOKS. Just ruins the pretty flow of flowers to have stakes poking up everywhere. Anyway...lol....I do appreciate you checking them out and giving my new post such a lovely review. Thanks so very much.

    I have planted them also they can be messy.....try the decorative bamboo sticks with some nice looking raffia or natural looking cord. Looking forward to more flower pics!

    I have a whole stack of bamboo stakes in the back of the wood shed Mary Lynn. Perhaps I'll give in and give these guys another try this spring...they ARE pretty.

    I really enjoy walking around my flowers after dark Debi....a couple of large industrial flashlights and POW the flowers take on an entirely different look. I do appreciate you checking out my new post.... the lovely review and, of course, the extra sparkle you gave my piece. Thanks so very much Debi.

such a beautiful pure white gladioli; would have been a six* without the distracting bottom left corner;
amazing lighting and sharp focus;
excellent control of exposure for the white;

    Thank you so much sg for the wonderful review. As I'm sure you know- the blossoms on the GLADIOLI stem are close together. Although I didn't mind the 'neighbor' being included I can see how you might find it distracting....another reviewer mentioned it as well so I do appreciate you not docking me points for it. Always appreciate hearing from you when I post a new piece.

Love this, Deborah! Beautiful image you've captured here showing the lovely Gladiola at night and I like the angle you chose for this. Excellent lighting and focus. I love the dramatic image this makes with the purple tinge and the wonderful shapes you've shown in the petals. Thanks for the interesting notes accompanying this, too. Beautiful composition. Suzanne

    Actually gg- the only after shot treatment of my photo was a bit of cropping and a little sharpening. Otherwise, this is exactly as my camera and I saw it. Do appreciate you having a look and thanks so much for the lovely review.
