I did like the other one better then this one. Sorry. The focus is really a bit soft and the clarity somewhat dark and dull. I really think the lighting took away the detail of this one. The colors and shapes are good as well as the framing. Thanks for sharing.

I like the angle you used for your close up of this beautiful bird, Grace, and I like the soft focus on this. Thank you for the notes accompanying this, too. The softened background works very well. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

a very beautiful bird with amazing deep green color;
excellent angle;
focus just a tad too soft;
iuse the same camera and don't understand why you used such a low iso, especially with such a high shutter speed;

    I tend to get nervous (probably too much for my on good) about the noise that the higher ISO sometimes creates. Usually 800 is the sweet spot for me, but not always. I actually have another shot ISO 2500 that doesn't look too bad as far as grain or noise but the light level was very low.
    Do you have any issues with this camera? I am curious because this is a new camera for me and I am still experimenting with it.
    Thank you very much for your comments :)

Good notes Grace. Wouldn't have known what this little guy was without them.

I like your perspective here...interesting angle and always nice to see them in a natural setting. Colors look natural and it's well exposed. As for focus...hmnnn..seems he could be a bit crisper...sharper but I am not positive if it's your image or my eyes right now. Looks sharp around the feet but not so much as you get up towards the head area. Maybe I'll take a break and have a look at your little guy later on to see if it's just me...lol

Do like seeing a brand new bird type though!

    Thank you very much! I had quite a bit of trouble saving this image and uploading it. The first upload was severely sharp - not at all like the true image. No matter how I saved it once I cropped it it kept saving as though the compression was too high. I actually wound up softening the image and re-uploading it - so I'm sure you can see some softness! It's me -not you - Drama :)

A beautiful profile picture of the Red Crowned Barbet perched above you showing off it's beautiful shape, green plumage with the Red crown & eye lids & strong pointed beak. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting that catches the gleam in it's eye.. Taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A very nice bird shot posted here! Your classic composition gives us a great view of him in a normal pose. The image is sharp and well exposed. Like the gleam in his eye and the detail that can be enjoyed. Well done!

Happy that they have this specimen at your zoo so we get to see it closeup. Gorgeous color and your focus on eye is excellent. Little over exposed on top otherwise great color and composition. :) Mary
