Bravo! Lots of good things here!

The eye we see is perfect! Love the strange color of that eye. The S shape of the neck is for Spectacular!

Nice shallow DOF makes that perfect background get out of the way of the main subject!

Textbook perfect!!!!

Lovely capture of the beautiful Flamingo, Eileen and I like the pose you caught, showing a figure of eight with his neck. The softened background works very well to show off his lovely colours. Very good lighting and focus showing great clarity. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Different areas cause different color variations of the flamingos Fred. I must go and look at yours. Thanks so much!!

A beautiful job with this bird. The plummage its grooming is so well portrayed. Top of the line focusing of this bird from head on down.

The pose makes brings this shot to life. The figure 8 of the neck and head is fabulous. The details and textures of the beak are so clear and sharp. But what really grabs me is that eye. Super sharp with a catch light.

I will say you have mastered your Nikon D7000 ... B-)) Bob

I am so sad I don't have a 6 for you. This is my favorite shot in some time! Really superb focus and exposure with lovely detail even in the dark areas. No overexposed highlights. Beautiful use of aperture to produce that lovely soft background. Ver well composed. Really impressive!

Wow! This is beautiful! I have a friend obsessed with flamingos who would love this! I've been wanting to paint one for so long, and have some pictures of them from our local zoo, but they don't have this beautiful deep color! Love the symmetry and curves and the blurred background is perfect! Really enjoy your work!

You always have such wonderful titles Eileen. Very imaginative and often w/ a bit of twisted humor...lol...I love that.

Marvelous portrait of this guy. That color is just outstanding. Your focus on him is spot on crisp detailing those creamsicle-colored feathers just beautifully. He's even got a bit of sparkle in his eye. Very nice. Perfectly exposed as well....the bits of white on him are as lovely as the colors.

Is this at a sanctuary or do these guys just roam around down by you?? Really nice work here Eileen.

Deborah

haha, thanks Deb! This was at Flaming Gardens, a sanctuary for injured birds and animals. these guys are free to come and go. I've never seen an injured one here before. they grabbed some of these guys from Hialeah Race Track when they closed down.

Race Track? Man you guys do some crazy crazy things down there in Florida! lol Most very welcome for the review Eileen.

A beautiful "portrait" if that's the right term of this amazing bird, focus and angle are superb and the detail on the feathers and bill make it look almost like a painting. The vivid pink and lighter cream like colour characteristics of a flamingo are expressed brilliantly in this shot, and it also captures the gentle nature of the bird too. A wonderful picture, great work!
