Fabulous camouflage capture. Your fellow is easy to view but also very much the same color as his surroundings so kudos on the focus. Great color and lighting as well. Good luck in the contest and thanks for sharing.

Wow, it is almost impossible to see the toad, excellent finding, but the bright area on the frame is a distraction

also, the focus is very soft

Well, i guess i'll just have to believe you that there['s a toad in there! I can see that there's maybe a head in the lower left, which puts it nicely in a third, and it's in focus like virtually no other inch.

my dog sniffed the hole and thought I better check, cause last time a bunch of ground wasps came out after him lol,,once I knew this fellow hid in there all day to keep cool I decided to take photos and keep Jackson away,, thanks

An interesting take I must say. Couldn't quite figure out what I was seeing at first. Considering the limitations on the number of possible angles to get this take - this one ain't that bad.

The camera management is fine. Composition and framing are fine, considering the circumstances of the subject.

thanks,,yes if dirt fell on him he would be totally camouflaged and I had to wait until he cleared off him to take more photos
