I like the colors you used, but need to use my imagination to see the underwater life. It is an interesting method you use with salt. Best wishes.

Yes, it does look like an underwater scene with splashes of seaweed colors and coralstones.
Upper part does look as if an illumination from above penetrates in a filtered lighting.
Thanks for sharing!

You have done such a nice job filling this painting with interesting textures. I like the creativity of the process as well as the result. The colors are very nice and are placed in complimenting order in conjunction with each other. This is eye catching and a pleasure to view!

I find myself really drawn to your choice of colors found in this watercolor. Very serene garden of impressionistic tones. The texturing of the salt washes really add dimension and nice texture. Lovely.

Thank you for your opinion - I know you are the expert in underwater scenes. I don't have that opportunity so this was purely from imagination. Suzanne

Suzanne - Sometimes the best work we produce happens when we are "Just playing around". When there is no preconceived image in mind or no mental project guidelines buzzing around in our heads, that's when the left brain takes over and we become 'creative'.

I think this is a really top of the line piece.

The color range is what one would expect to see under the sea.

None of the creative aspects of this work seem contrived or planned, it just seems to flow - like water.

I like what you've shown us ... B-)) Bob

Well, well - is this a grand first time I tried it event??? Wonderful depth to the image. The movement engaging and the lighting wonderfully under the sea. The method you used is one that has been around for a while? I've not consciously viewed it before so was wondering. I think this is just fabulous. Beautiful and captures me in a vivid way. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much, Debi, for your very nice review. This is a method I've used many times before though not so much recently but it's good fun to experiment with colours every now and then with the surprise element in not knowing just how the shapes will appear after you've added salt grains too! It works out exactly as you wished. When first looking at this in thumbnail size I immediately thought oceans and scuba diving photography. The way colours float into each other with their differing shapes is typical of rock contents down there. All this combined with moving bursts of blue water filled thousands of tiny bubbles.Love your details of how you worked on this. Very interesting to a non painter. No sixes left sorry.
