Tip toe through the Tulips and Snow!
Sharp focus, controlled white balance, great colors and fine clarity with crisp details.
Diggin' the Tulip buds and leaves.
Nicely done Doc ;)

    Actually Sange those are a couple of broken pieces of the large Granite rocks I had surrounding the TULIP bed....pieces sometimes chip off due to the cold and snow each winter.....hadn't had time to do the 'Spring Clean-Up' before this snow. Do appreciate you going back in my portfolio and finding this one.....and thank you for the excellent review you gave it.

Nice job on the focus. Lighting, dof and especially the exposure are good. Nice spring color on the stem and leaves. The leaves sort of display that they are quite firm so hopefully the snow melts away with the sun but I think there is a North Eastern up that way. If so stay safe and thanks for sharing. It seems like a test of time.

    lol...a 'test of time' for sure Don. This photo was last season. No flowers here yet...gardens still buried under snow and you're right- we are getting SLAMMED w/ snow today...tonight....tomorrow....sigh Also right about the toughness of the TULIPS....they blossomed into gorgeous red flowers....a tad beat up but lovely just the same. Do appreciate you having a look and giving my post such a wonderful review. Thank you so much.

Looks a bit like mistletoe; good dark green color; weird to see this in the white, cold snow; like the bit of bark, etc on the left; it kind of adds to the shot; I like seeing snow.

    When the ground is thawing out in the spring it will often dislodge some of my rock edgings swimmer. That's why they are there next to the TULIPS. I'm happy to say these guys survived the VERY late snowfall and produced lovely red blooms. Thank you so much for going and having a look at this post too and, of course, for sharing one of your gold stars w/ it. I do really appreciate it.

I really like this photo the green in the petals really stand out and the bit of red showing in the snow like the snow really killed the tulips and there bled.

Nature finds a way. I'm glad they survived. The ice crystals on the leaves are beautiful. Is that a bulb that got uncovered on the left? Very interesting photo.

    It's actually a rock Gail. I have rocks bordering all my beds and during the spring when the ground is thawing and heaving they sometimes end up in places they're not supposed to be. I do really appreciate you checking out this post too. Thank you so much for the wonderful review of it.

LOL - Boy am I glad I am not in Vermont! This is a thingy that happens frequently in the March/April months up north, eh? You have capture the details fabulously with fine focus. Great natural color and lighting as well. The snow is so fantabulously detailed... amazing. Thanks for sharing... hope they make it! :-)) Or.... start all over again.

    Oh not in March Debi....everything out there is still buried in snow....nope...lol...I don't even BEGIN to think of spring until April anyway...once the mud comes. Yes...my mile long drive turns into a mile of mud for about a month. It's a mess but THEN I know spring is right around the corner. Have to really appreciate four seasons (five if you count the mud) to live here. My TULIPS did survive...a tad tattered but ended up w/ beautiful red blossoms. Thanks so much for checking this one out.

Deb - Here's another one for you that I have found to be mostly true about Vermont - If you don't like the weather, wait a minute it will change.

That saying was never more relevant then on a trip to Springfield, Vt. On that 137 mi ride I encountered sunshine blue skies, then overcast with rain, then sleet, then snow - typical.

Nice composition and framing. Your camera technique is as usual excellent. I like the contrast between the snow and the tulip leaves.

You have captured a slice of Vermont that only a Vermonter can ... B-)) Bob

    Yes Bob...lol...I have heard that one as well and you're so right....it's true as your trip to Springfield showed. I remember emailing with my Mother several years ago (she lived just a few miles away...."as the crow flies" there's ANOTHER VT saying) Anyway, it was snowing at her place but not at mine. Vermont is not only gorgeous and very photogenic it also has some fascinating weather patterns doesn't it! Do always appreciate your comments on my posts Bob. Thank you so much for checking this one out and giving it such a wonderful review.

    They are one of the tougher of the spring flowers gg. The snow slowed them down a bit but they blossomed....big, beautiful red flowers! Do appreciate you having a look at my new post. Thanks so very much for the lovely review too.

I go often to Holland, the tulip country, only 5 hours from home;
they experience some snow every year and don't have serious problems with their tulips, as long as the flower isn't yet open;
a very nice capture with sharp focus and good exposure for the white;

    They ARE one of my tougher early flowers sg and I think you're right. These guys blossomed despite the snow. Beautiful red flowers. Thanks so much for checking them out and giving me such a lovely review.

"The times they are a changin'" as Bob Dylan once said - these tulips are still fighting on through the snow but this shows that things can change drastically from year to year - perhaps a hint of global warning? Great clarity and sharpness of colour and good close up perspective. A great photo and thoughtful notion behind it, great work.
