I love this! And your artist notes create a story not unlike the words of Mark Twain... regarding weather and the folks living with it. Excellent writing! A pleasure!

This is a familiar scene in our area too...but not for as late in the season as yours so much further up north. Amazing how tulips are such survivors. I suppose their stalks and heavy green foliage is rather heavy and almost rubbery. They are one of my favorite flowers. What color were these?

As for your camera techs..awesome! The snow has all of it's texture with no problem in white balance. You have captured the density of a late snow that is usually heavy with moisture instead of cold.

Your colors of green are beautiful. With that slight bit of brown of some of your native geological formations plus the white and it's shadows of gray..this is a very pleasant scene to view. All the while seeing the story of new blossoms that will hopefully survive. And best of all...you can finally see the soil after so many inches of snow during your winters!!!

A lovely post all around. Thanks for sharing!

These guys were red Becky. Have some lovely photos of them in bloom and I think you're right....their heavy stems and leaves are tougher than some other spring flowers. HYACINTHS, for example, did not all survive. Thank you so much for the detailed review. Debated on either a snow photo or a flower photo...lol...and decided on the best of both worlds! Anyway, always appreciate you checking out my new posts.
