Congrats on the contest win. And yes what a sad story behind such a great photo. Great focus and i like the selective color as well. Great detail and framing. Great job

At first glance it reminds me of something from Jurassic Park, when the dinosaur tries to claw his way out of the cage lol. But then the caption says something completely different, more depressing. This photo really does make me feel the plight of the animal, and you did a good job doing that with such a simple shot and color editing. Good job with creative this narrative and brining out emotion.

This is a very interesting photo. Such detail on the fingers. Using color to emphasize the photo is a great idea. You captured the loneliness of this poor fellow. Well done.

Outstanding! It grabbed my heart the minute I saw it. You have a beautiful eye to catch that moment and let the story tell itself. The details are a slice of perfection. Very well done!

To me this is such a powerful piece. Your reference of the axiom of a 'thousand words' is so well demonstrated with this take. I look at this and feel so sad for this creature, who has done nothing more except to exist.

Camera management is excellent. I am especially taken by the exquisite detail of the fingers with the finger print ridges show so well. You were right in using a selective color technique it brings home the plight of this regal creature.

This certainly tells a story. Good luck in the contest. I think you have a contender with this take ... B-)) Bob

Wow! This really tells a story, and a very sad one at that. I love what you've done here with the selective coloring and, although we see so little of the orangutan, what we do see has a huge impact. Brilliant work!

Certainly sums it up for me. I do not like the idea of zoos where animals are restrained in every way. Some exceptions of course in saving species for later release in controlled conditions. That said you have demonstrated beautifully but gloomily the joyless life they have with this take of four fingers behind caged area. We do not need to see facial expression or any posture in its prison to feel sad as you quote on intro. Excellent work to bring out thoughts and emotions.

Sad, you are correct. In many cases I feel the sadness overwhelms any attempt at art. But you have a really nice piece of art here, because i can't tell what these fingers belong to. or who. There is a nice split design and composition, split in style and colors. very interesting.
