I have never seen this bird before Mary. Nice find and capture of him feeding on the nectar.
I think you did a nice job here despite the close crop up top.
He stands out well enough and we can even see the eye.

WOW Mary Liz...you definitely got focus spot on crisp and sharp here. It's beautifully detailed....both your bird and flowers.

Really nice natural color as well. Love the dash of yellow along his back. Perfect exposure and also you could not have timed it better catching him w/ his beak deep into the flower. Really nicely done. Cropped a tad tight along upper frame....although not sure if your cropped top frame or just cut it a bit close when taking the photo. Regardless....the clarity is wonderful.

pity the bird is almost lost on the frame, I think that making the frame more bright may help in seeing the bird better

Thanks Eileen only had 18-55 lens so hard to get too close just ordered myself Tamron16-300 so won't get caught out again once it arrives, reviews are good so looking forward to trying it out :)

Yes, you did get a quite reasonable photo after all! Your image is sharp but I do wish that it was brighter. Never heard of a honey eating bird, but he does look like a handsome fellow! Good try!
