Magnificent drawing, as is all your works. I look forward to seeing the colored pencils at work What a detailed sketch this is. This looks so real it is frightening. Wonderful, as always. You are one gifted artist.

A carefree, breezy rendition with great tonal range!
Fine features & smooth textures.
Was this copied from a photo reference?
Is the tilt intentional.
Thanks for sharing...

You did a beautiful job with this sketch. I like how detailed this drawing is, and the black and white gives it a more dramatic feel, especially in the sky. Thanks for sharing and well done :)

Looking at this drawing, I start with a question: is this done from a photo. Not that I have a problem with that, but if I am right I see lens distortion as if it is taken through a wide-angle lens ;-)

The technique of the drawing I think is very good and I like it overall.

Thanks for sharing

I remember the last set of new colored pencils I got Jesuel....in a tin case....lol...I felt like someone had given me jewels I was so excited!

Have really enjoyed following along in your sketchbook as you've shown us these basilicas, cathedrals etc. This one is as well detailed as the previous ones....w/ the most excellent shading work. I imagine your colored pieces will be just as good as your graphite ones are.

Once again you have sketched a beautiful Cathedral, whether in ruins or not. I love how the shading goes from light to dark from left to right, and top to bottom. Thanks for sharing. Which one is this?

You're welcome. I'm just learning 2 point perspective in class right now.

A great, precise sketch of this cathedral ruin showing clearly the arches where windows once were and the the shape and foundations of how it was shaped (before being knocked down by Henry VIII no doubt!). Good shading and accuracy makes for good depth perception. Nice sketch.

Excellent drawing of the cathedral ruins. I like the angle you used for this, seeming to look up at them. Very good light and shade with your pencils. I look forward to seeing your sketches with coloured pencils. Very nice composition. Suzanne

Wow. This is really well done James. I am always amazed as to how you give such detail in an otherwise soft scene. Nice contrast between lights and darks, shadows and bright. Great work here James ~ Steve
