I absolutely love giraffes. Beautifully up close and personal. Sharply focused with fine features and sleek hair textures. Compact training. Great photo, thanks for sharing.

I really like how close you are in this photo, because it allows us to see the tongue of the giraffe so well. I also like the all black background and how the light is falling is falling on its head.

The photo is sharp with fine details and the exposure perfect. I like the very tight cropping and how well the head of the animal is placed within the frame. A truly great looking and well taken photo.

I love this photo very much! I really like the closeness of this photo to the giraffe's face... it really provides a unique intimacy from the viewer to the giraffe. Great clarity and lighting as well!

a great close up eileen of the giraffe face while she is having a snack;
nice natural colors and sharp focus;
I like the light and shadow on her face, not surprised since coming from a shadow; lol;

what a great isolate capture of this beauty indulging in his feast. I love the tight composition, your beauty of rich warm color as well as light tippings, especially the catches in the eye.

the giraffe says (with a french accent).." see mon cherie' what i can do with my tongue. want to try? oui oui??" lolol. i can the other folks around the zoo looking in amazement. that would the perfect tim to bring out the camera to get facial expressions. wink..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the giraffe facial is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

eileen0204 - This not your usual take on a large herbivore. Most would include a large part of, if not all, the body. This approach is 'outside the box'. I like that.

The action of the story is obvious.

Your camera settings are smack dab on. DOF and the resulting detail of the animal is overwhelming.

Composition and framing my have benefited some by including a little more of the head behind the eye and above.

Overall a well thought out capture ... B-)) Bob

Great capture, Eileen, showing the profile of the lovely Giraffe nibbling on the morsel of food. I like the black background which works very well to push him forward. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

A beautiful close up photo of this lovely gentle animal having a nibble. Fantastic colours (I think giraffes are gorgeous anyway) and great clarity for the whole picture - lovely shot.
