Good Afternoon

Nice image and good thought. We see this cycle a lot in view plant life but tend to focus on the new growth and often past that which is past prime. I like that you have called attention to the full cycle and I think that each element has its own message for us.

Well done and I also like your dog. I have a yorkie named Robo and I love dogs also.

Great photograph covering all of the life stages of the plant. I like how you can see the many different colors and stages as you said in clear focus. The green background fading into the back makes a great backdrop to these flowers.

Well.... I must say I tested myself to see if I could spot the six distinct stages before I continued on with your artist notes. I found five...but didn't count the two flowers on the left as an evolving stage...which it truly is. Stage one and stage six are the ones I love to study in your photo. I can see why this is one of your favorite captures. It tells a story that you check for every time you work around it. Lovely bg too. Hopefully it won't be long until you see some of these shoots pushing up. So exciting! Do these have an aroma? They almost resemble a little rose.

lol...I would have done the same thing myself Becky...tested myself to see if I could see them all....and stage one and six are my favorites as well. Cleo said she's seen this down south somewhere where they refer to it as 'Island Rose' (already added that as an aka name to my notes of it) so your idea re: it resembling a ROSE is spot on. Surprisingly I've never noticed it having an aroma but it's so pretty I don't mind. It stretches the length of about 4 beds so I study it whenever I am working in one of those- that's really how I happened to notice this...now lol I have HUNDREDS of photos of it I bet. Anyway, thank you so much for checking it out and for giving it such a wonderful review Bec. Always appreciate seeing a review from you.

Outstanding capture of a very beautiful flowers. So captivating as it presents the flower from bud to blossom !! You can almost picture the flower blooming as you explained it in the narrative. The colors are brilliant !! Great focus and composition. Love this !

Oh that is just the best thing to hear Lucy...that you could almost picture it blooming through my words and photo!!. Honestly that makes me so happy to hear and then you add some sparkle of your own to it!! Just the most delightful review...lol Thank you very much.

It is indeed special that you were able to capture the circle of life in a single photo, but don't minder the technical quality of your photo. Your camera setting must have been perfect because all the stages have the right sharpness of detail to inspect those stages of life while the soft shallow background emphasizes them. The know the colors are as realistic as the are the textures because I have seen this plant in its native environment. Down south its known as Island Rose.
I think its even for this plant unusual to have all the stages so close together. Nature helped to archive the photo. You were at the right place at the right place, but that you have seen and captured it is photographers skill.

awww...such a nice review Cleo. Thank you so much. I study all my flowers....compulsively some might say. I was weeding in a bed next to this one here when I noticed how all the stages were so close to each other. Got my camera (which is ALWAYS w/ me when I'm out and about in the flower beds) and voila....lol I appreciate you giving me the aka name. I will make note of it in my LAVATERA files. Again though Cleo I appreciate the lovely review. Thank you so much for that.

Holy Six distinct stages Doc!
The fuschia pink color of the flowers versus the Merlot red/ burgundy of the closed buds are simply fabamondo! :)
Fine focus, great POV, excellent Exposure and great job getting all stages of it's growth.
Nice work my D~3 Doc!
Ha!
You get my last six....Now I am going to relax and celebrate my Brother's 50th.
Steaks are on the grill!!
;)

Steaks on the grill and all I get is a lousy six??? You know I am teasing. So guess how I got this?? That delightfully ???? aw hell...I just forgot what the second 'd' was. Different? no....disparaging? no.... discerning? no....lol. It honestly has slipped my mind. At any rate I was going to say that that delightfully annoying brain was studying it one day when I was weeding the bed next to it. See? It pays to analyze sometimes...lol Enjoy your steak and cake and tell Frankie Happy Birthday and thank you for the great review and shiny gold star.
