So much beauty captured in this photo of Lavatera and yet you have captured six stages of its bloom. Your framing is good and photo is well composed. Your colors nice and many beautiful shades of pink. Your focus sharp revealing good lighting, details, clarity and contrast. The details in this flowers and stamen nicely captured. Your perfect DOF and artistic background compliment and make this an outstanding shot. Worthy of a six star! Excellent artists notes! This is very nice work and thanks for sharing

Amazing capture, as you say, showing the six stages in the life of the beautiful Lavatera flower, Deborah. I like the angle you used for this with the softened foliage in the background making a perfect frame. Very good lighting and focus. Excellent composition. Suzanne

I found this plant flowering in one little spot out near the end of my driveway Suzanne. I admired these flowers for two years before I decided to dig up a piece and add it to the back side of some of my garden beds. It LOVED being put there apparently b/c it has simply flourished in it's new home...lol Do appreciate you checking out my new post and thank you for the marvelous review of it too.

Beautiful lighting and lovely rich tones framed with this shot of your unfolding Lavatera. Love the selective focus, the cycle of beauty portrayed as well as the soft blends of foliage framing your tiny subjects.

COOL,Deb!
What I'm really liking about this fine looking picture is all the 'hyper attractive' coloration in it! : )
The pastel-like Purple/Pink shades of the living blossoms, the Brown/Red tint of the dead ones and the rich and pleasant Green of the leaves really makes this one 'work' for me!
A 'Good Show'? I should say so! : )

Healthy pink blooms with some wilted/fallen ones leaving seeds waiting to fall off, grow on the ground and continue to propagate new stems to flourish soon...
Contrasting verdant foliage lends a nice backdrop.

IDeal framing with only few cropped buds.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

I see ONE Dick and it's barely touched....it is a HUGE hedge....bound to have an errant bud here and there. At any rate....thank you for checking out my new post. Do appreciate it.

looks like a family, the one on the left is dad, mom is looking the other way and the kids in the background. dad is drooping like he all stressed out..lol., the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the flowers is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

A superb shot. The colors are fantastic and the background is far enough behind the subject to be rendered softly while maintaining enough depth of field to cover the subject.
