I agree with you about how water droplets can often times detract from the beauty of the flower, but in this case the pattern of the droplets are easy on the eyes and give the petals an attractive sparkle. I really like the background effects you have used and how the shapes mimic flower petals and seem to elevate the flower and add interesting light to the image.

The droplets did indeed work in the photo, and the great thing about them is that they don't come on too strongly. Also, the blending of the background's pattern and gradient colors do a great job at presenting the flower at the front.

I like the simplicity of the shot. Just a simple flower but brought to extreme beauty from the capture of it's details, chiaroscuro techniques, and fading away of another flower in the background.
