Thank you for sharing the information about this plant and your choice to include it in your garden. Evening shots can be tricky, but you have pulled it off nicely, with the light on the center bloom and the dark background to give good contrast.

Good Morning Peglegdeb

I am not familiar with this flower but they are a little like some orchids my wife grows. Her orchids last for months at a time and I notice you say these are long lasting blooms.

Black background of course provides most contrast and it is good. The blooms are sharp and clear and I like the variation of light between the center and the outer areas. Composition is good.

Good story

Thank you for sharing

Roger

Also I like these flowers, but some reason I don't manage to grow them. I bought some plants some years ago, but they were all covered in mildew. I do however think I will it another try. These pink beauties tempts me to buy some new plants. You have pictured them so well and I especially like the way the light is falling on the them, and the tight cropping.

Your photo is of course also sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in the petals. Also the exposure is spot on.

It is nice the way the flowers are filling the frame, and I also think the format suits this photo. A truly lovely and well taken photo Deborah, and with a very good DOF.

These guys (PHLOX) mildew so easily av and I couldn't agree more that it is THE most unattractive thing ever. I've found that the best way to avoid it is to give each plant plenty of room. If air can circulate around them freely they are much less likely to develop that awful mildew. I always think I have done a good job when I can tempt YOU av- an avid gardener yourself- to want to try something at your gardens. The white variety ("David') is really nice and aromatic too if you need a splash of white somewhere. Thank you so much for having a look and also for your wonderful review. It always annoys me...lol...that I can only nominate you once a month you know. Oh and Happy Easter to you too av.

I can assure you that I am more than happy to get the one nomination you are allowed to give. Thank you also for the tips about the Phlox. When I think of it I probably planted the last lot a bit too close to each other. As always you are are more than welcome for the review, and I hope you had a nice Easter.

lol....it's probably precisely why we can nominate an individual just once in 30 days av.

I like the cropping and lighting in this photograph. The detail and colors are captured beautifully and the very dark background creates a great contrast to the colors in the flowers.

And a Blessed Easter to you Deb. Perhaps one day we can take a picture of something together at the same time and then compare your "Really Fancy, Expensive, State of the Art, NASA approved camera results with my cheapo cell phone. I have already started practicing holding a flashlight between my knees every chance I get. I have to admit that I get some strange looks when I am in the mall. I may have to abandon the flashlight and simply use my "Natural Golden Glow" as a light source. Time will tell. You are just The Best Deb ~ Steve

Some quite beautiful blooms presented here. Your fine central composition gives us a very good look at these beauties. Sharpness and exposure are fine. Well done!
