Did you start out with colored shapes which make a flower in the kaleidoscope. I cannot help myself, I always try to find out how something was created. This composition looks as if made from several separate circular kaleidoscope pieces. The flower placed on the background of purple rays, then a multicolored center added. I find the shadow added at the left interesting. It intensifies the impression of light shining in from the left.

Hi Cleo. I'd have to go back and look at the file to see exactly how I got started with this, but the white part of the flower was done with the kaleidoscope effect in PSP, which I don't play with often cause it never does what you want, but every once in awhile it will come up with a surprise. lol. The rest, I added... the coloring on the flower, the center and the background. I'm pretty sure the background was a separate kaleidoscope. If you think of a macro of a huge purple daisy type flower with a white center, it sort of works, :))) Anyway, I had fun doing it, and I thank you sincerely for the comments.

The Huge daisy flower idea works indeed.
I use Digital Image Suite, but my kaleidoscope never does what I want either.

A great representation of the flower and it's stigma with great detail and clarity, and accuracy of colour. Great kaleidoscope effect and against the purple backdrop gives it a sense of liveliness and vibrance - good work.
