I like the profound beauty on this one as opposed to a colored version.
The viewer's focal attention will be drawn right on the fragile petals...the soft shadows...then to the graceful flowing rhythm of those lacy modifications...
Great tonal range.
Light handling is just enough to illuminate the bright petals without overblowing them.
Sharply focused.
Ideal off centered framing.

Thanks & Happy Easter, AVM!

A beautiful composition with your trademark background. These azaleas look particularly good in black and white. The lighting is excellent and the detail in the stamens is outstanding.

This is very effective in black and white and I must say it almost looks eerie. The beauty of the background's softness is quite appealing to the eye. I love the view from here. Lots of luck in the contest. Great stuff.

A very grand Azalea in my opinion - brilliant clarity and positioning, with fantastic detail on the flower itself with the additional background effects giving it a great and fitting backdrop - works excellently in B&W, and the reflection adds to the depth of the photo as a whole. Great work.

I love black and white. It has an elegant note and it let us look differently at the subjects. We note the stamens pistils and the light and shadows on the petals were we would note the beauty of color. The contradiction of the natural flowers and the fractals curving like ribbons is also intriguing. This is indeed a composition of beauty.
