I suppose this is a self portrait, because I have taken a few of these myself. Another thing we have in common is the gray hair. LOL I especially like the close and personal approach, and also that the background is all neutral.
Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen all over. The exposure is spot on.
The photo is nicely framed and you have a good position within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you very much Annie for your kind review and comments - much appreciated. The lady in question was preparing to take my photograph but I couldn't resist snapping her she tried to get to grips with the camera. Mike

LOL!! Good photo, I am sure you will do good in the contest--I think humor goes far. Love all the texture you caught, and your photo is so clear I can see the fawcett's in her engagement diamond.

Aptly captured for the comp theme.
Superb up close & very personal.
Cute & candid...never mind if this is orchestrated! LoL!
Advise your loved ones to practice "open eyes" when shooting.
Closing one eye is not a good technique.
You should see what's happening around you!
Who knows you can capture some weird subjects heading your way: a bird hovering, a baseball bat, a broken branch,
Tsunami, etc. ;-))
Good one sided illumination.
Actually I was attracted by her golden rings with diamonds more than her cam! LoL!
I'm sure she's is a bubbly, playful, cheerful Nana!
Impressive entry.
Potential voters' choice!
Thanks for sharing...

nice focus, light handling and composition, but there is no center of interest here, and the fact that I can not see the photographer face tales from the initial impact
good luck with the contest and thanks for sharing

A great shot as far as another person taking a photo is concerned and good luck in the competition!! good clarity and nice close up, my only hang up is it looks a bit staged and could do with some more depth than simply the subject itself. Still a good entry though!!!

Quite a nice shot of the photographer snapped! Your full and central composition gives us a god look at the action. Sharpness and exposure are fine. Well done and good look!

Almost an ad for the camera! So bright and colorful. I like the close-up. We don't know what the subject is, but the shooter is very intent. Good clarity, composition, and lighting.

A very nice shot. I would imagine that the majority of these point and shoot cameras are in the hands of us old timers who were not brought up with a smart phone in their pockets. Excellent detail and a very fine composition. Good luck in the contest.
