This is a wonderful entry for this contest! Wow! Your artist notes are thorough..as always. And in this case the camera settings are most important..especially to me. And your camera and the photographer have worked seamlessly together here to create a clearly focused and well composed scene.

The initial impact for me ... aside from the darkness and the street lamps..is the leading lines. And your vantage point..whether it is or not..appears to be slightly off center with the buildings on the left giving it a gentle push. The staggering of the two front street lights help this as well. Excellent leveling and framing. Wow!

Your colors are warm..even though it probably wasn't. The soft, almost greenish hue of the walkway is a clean pathway to your city. May only be my computer with the greenish...but I like it!

The lighting is gentle as well...except for the one building that wants to be King! :D The remaining window and office lights are calmly defining the size and architecture of their buildings in the dark. I like the buildings with the necklaces. And I can see the only sign says North Star.....I believe.

An outstanding capture with the star bursting street lamps and the warm brown of the railing. Again... It looks like a welcoming city from your perspective. Best of luck in the contest!!

Your review got quickly to the reason I stopped at this vantage point. I said to my friend at the time, I have to stop here and get some shots, "can you believe the great leading lines". The path, railing and lights all lead the eye to the City center. I was awed at the time.

The Sony handled the harsh light conditions very well, balancing dark and light as best it could.

Thanks for your time and excellent eye for catching the essence of an image!

BTW-I have never equated the building lights to a necklace, must be a due to your female eye! :)

'Way Cool'! : )
That's the city where my beloved Aunt Norma ( who inspired several of my best drawings ) resided in for several years before her passing in '09!
It's nice to see such an interesting nocturnal view of a section of it!
