This Capture would show better if you used A UV filter in Editing if you have one.
I don't know if this was shot through glass, so focus is good but could have been sharper.
You handled white balance well enough and you have nice stop action.
Background is a bit bright and I may have softened it more.
It's a rare Capture of a barn owl feeding Mary and I applaud your efforts in taking this.
Nice capture ;)

Thanks Sange appreciate your constructive advice - it wasn't taken through glass but a very windy, rainy and cloudy day at a Raptor Conservation Park :)

Ok.. shutter speed needed to be higher than to get the stop action needed.
You can raise your ISO on that camera very high to get light needed. But..keep exposure bias on the minus side for whites.

A very fine nature shot presented here! Like your composition which captures a key natural moment!! To me, the owl looks rather pleased with himself. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done!

Cool,Mary!
Sure, the picture's background is a little harsh and distracting but So What? Lol!
It's an interesting picture of a fascinating nocturnal Raptor having it's dinner! That's perfect 'in my book'! : )
'Good Show',my friend!

Great capture, Mary, showing the beautiful Owl with its prey clutched in its beak. Very good lighting and focus showing excellent detail in the Owl's feather markings. Very good composition. Suzanne

A nice looking barn owl. The tight framing is perfect and colors are very attractive. I also like that they don't feed them the white mice we are likely to see.

excellent capture of the owl with his food, but the bright background distracts and takes from the initial impact

nice story telling, composition and presentation

thanks for sharing

Though the tasty mouse may be the treat for the owl, the really treat here is the detail that the picture reveals in the owl's feathers. Unfortunately, the focus is not A-1 sharp, but still the spots and color changes in his 'plumage" are very interestingly revealed.

A fantastic photograph timed and positioned so well , capturing nature and teatime in the purest form. Brilliant DOF and the clarity is superb, showing the unique and very intricate patterns of the owls down & feathers makes this a great picture, well done :)
