This has such lovely, soft colors. I do not know that I have ever seen an apricot tree...! Peach trees yes... but this one is new to me. And realizing you are in the cold zone..very intriguing! Thank you for sharing it and for your notes describing its location.
Your camera techs are perfect. The olive greens in the background couldn't be a better color to set the stage for these gentle blossoms. They seem to be blushing by the attention.
Your framing is perfect as well..the diagonal stem through the screen...with every bloom in focus right to the final exclamation point of the newest leaves. They are saying...Yay it's almost our turn!
Everything about this capture is perfect. And how wonderful that you have this in your yard. The best of luck in this contest!

I've never seen apricot blooms or trees before, thanks for sharing! These are such cute, dainty flowers. Great clarity and centering of the main flowers. It seems a tad dark to me overall, but it could be how it uploaded. Good luck in the contest!

The blooms are beautiful and reach out to me to be touched. They are so smooth and soft looking. I can understand the problems with weather and I am sorry to hear the fruit does not survive long.
This background is also really neat. I like it a lot.
All in all this is a really nice story well presented.

These apricot blooms are truly beautiful, and you have pictured them so well. I especially like how lovely the light is falling on the blooms, and also how nicely they are standing out from the green softened background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen both in the blooms and the buds. I also think both the white balance and the exposure is spot on.
The cropping is nicely done and the diagonal placement of the branch with blossoms is working perfectly. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.
