Ah, yes. That is the question. I would say both. Nice sharp shot of this most ordinary and usually unwelcome of plants. Good effort at getting this angle. You must have been prone. Nice DOF, with just enough focus for the closest grass.

My daughter would call this a flower, in this picture I would call it a pretty flower, in my lawn I would be cussing them coming up again. Lol Great crop, great focus on the details and the vivid colors. Great photo!

I definitely say flower! particularly as you have captured here. Great near central framing, great clarity which brings out the richness of the colours, and good DOF as it fades out of focus as a good contrast to the subject itself. Great piece!

This looks familiar. My lawn has a few more violets and the dandelions are just starting to bloom I like the low perspective and the very nice colors.

Like your PoV here...got right down there didn't you! Nice focus on the middle guy....and one at the left is pretty good. I might try to make this a vertical crop and see if I could get the one lower right frame out of the photo. It would accentuate the length of the two main blossoms. Colors are wonderful and it's well exposed (except for that lower guy that is...)
Never thought I'd be envious of Dandelions...lol...but I AM!! Should be popping up here soon....oh I hope anyway!
