A very fine shot. I like the warm tones that the sunlight on the trees gives you and the dappled shade on the snow is beautiful. A wonderfully sharp image with fantastic colors.

Cool,Deb! : )
The snow's been gone for quite a while over here ( even down in 'The Dark Woods'! ) and we were glad to see that crap disappear so I can understand your happiness about it going away over there at your place too!
: )
But,I digress!
That's quite a good looking photo,my friend! : D

LOL! A May dance,Deb! You must be getting right into the Beltane spirit,my friend! ( That Wiccan 'High Holiday' - One of their 'Great Sabbats' - is just a couple of days away now! )

    May Day, right Sean??

    That's the one,Deb! : )

I thought so Sean. Ya know I went to Catholic school- elementary school ad even there the Nuns (Dominican) and all the students went outside and celebrated 'May Day'.....dancing around poles etc. w/ long, brightly colored banners. So...lol...the Wicans and the Dominican Nuns celebrated the same thing!

In a way,Deb! The May pole dance is a big part of the Beltane celebration ( at least in some Wiccan 'traditions' ) but the Christians never adopted the 'Fire Leap' ritual, the occasional blood sacrifices ( another thing that varies among the many different Wiccan & Neo Pagan Traditions) and ,of course, they never so much as even mention that Beltane/May Eve-May Day is basically a celebration of Fertility and
Sexuality! THAT wouldn't go over all that well among a lot of the generally up-tight & prudish 'christians' but 'there it is'!
The Coven that I associate with doesn't 'poke fun' at the modern Christians for adopting and trying to 'sanitize' Beltane as they believe the ancient Europeans ( from whom modern Wiccans,Pagans, and Heathens developed ) adopted the celebration from the pre 'Ice Age' Neanderthals and who knows what their Magic Traditions & celebrations might have been like? : )

That's a great description Sean....I just knew you'd see the humor in Sister Mary Margaret even THINKING about the REAL meaning of May Day celebrations....lol

I kinda think that some ( prob;ly ALL! ) of the nuns that taught me knew exactlyt what the 'May Day' celebration was actually all about,Deb! ( They were just following 'the party line' and hoping that none of us 'innocent' kids ever 'wised up' about things like that! Lol!

Well I know how very sad you are right now with all your favorite snow gone. I just go back from UPS where I shipped a 1 ton box of snow to help ease your melancholy and to try in my humble way to raise your spirits. Remember, it is the thought that counts Deb. I did it for you. If you want I will send you pictures of snow any time you call for help. Always looking out for you. Oh, the picture.......forgot. Cool/cold scene with the powder between the trees. I always love wanking through the woods in Idaho. It was always so still and quiet except for an occasional bird call or my gasping for breath as I hiked. Great job Deb. Looking forward to your Spring Explosion ~ Steve

ahahahaha...OMG Steve....a ton of snow....how very 'thoughtful' of you...lol But you're right...it is on to flowers now. I'll will be checking the beds every day to find the first little guy poking up through the ground! I have to say- this review made me laugh out loud Steve...then cringe at the thought of a ton of snow...lol. Thank you so much for NOT really doing that!

No problem I understand your feelings about your snow. People here in the UK moan incessantly when we get some which will be a lot less than you get!

I love following game trails. Pay attention and your senses shift into overdrive. Everything around you becomes so sharp and clear. Eyes, ears, smell and taste take on such a keen sensitivity - love it. Must be the Abenaki in me.

I love how your snowshoe tracks vanish into the horizon.

Color and lighting are just the best. I really love great color, but every now and then - you know its a B&W day.

Your aperture setting is faultless, detail remains so sharp across the entire take - yahoo.

This is an absolutely gorgeous take, but I hope I don't see snow for awhile ... B-)) Bob
