I find the females to be pretty in colors despite their competing against the gorgeous red of the males.
You have a sharp close up of this pretty lady G ~Lu.
Camera techs are spot on showing fine details and Controlled Exposure.
I like to see more light in her eye, so I would suggest tracing the eye..then Lightening it a tad more ;)

Super sharp camera technique. All aspects of this beautiful little bird is exceptional.
DOF is excellent for the subject matter. There is strong detail across the entire image. The eye is well described with a hint of a catch light.

i can hear the Mrs. saying.."have you seen my old man! if he is not in trouble he is gonna be!" lolol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the female cardinals facial is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

back ground is good nice and simple so it makes the cardinal the star .
like the fine focus and detail in feathers -eye- the red beak - and the top not red feathers . colours -focus-light-frame- all make an enjoyable view thanks
