Gorgeous. Purple is my favorite color but in this photo I like how vibrant the green is. I can smell the lilac even though I'm not even next to it. My favorite time of the year when everything comes to life again. Great capture and composition. The clarity is great.

Your focus is excellent and your exposure well done with detail in both the highlights and shadows, I love the inclusion of the leaf below. Well done.

    Pam,
Thanks a million for your great review on the Lough Gara Lilac.
I'd love to show the whole bush but that would be nearly impossible as it's tucked behind my shed, a smoke tree & a Mulberry tree. If I cold go into my neighbour's garden i might get a better shot but not from inside my garden.

This single flower cluster is a beauty all by itself. I especially enjoy that We see the little blossoms in different stages, still closed, half open and fully open. This Lilac has wonderful shades of color. I just imagine how beautiful the 30 feet high brush must look.

We lived in Michigan when I was a young child and I so remember the beautiful smell of the lilacs in our yard. To this day that is one of my favorite fragrances. We moved to California and lilacs just don't grow well here. Your composition is lovely with the green leaf in front. Excellent focus and lighting.

A wonderful shot of this tightly packed bunch of lovely scarlet purple flowers, almost squeezing into place as there is so many! great clarity gives a lovely perspective of the flowers both individually and as a whole, and the surroundings nicely creating this well positioned and lovely shot, good work.

I really like the placement of the lilac within the frame. The details of the petal shapes and colors stand out well. I can hardly wait for these to bloom in my area. Such a shame that they only last a couple of weeks around here. The greenery in your image looks very nice too!

I do so love Lilacs and your capture of this branch and blooms is absolute perfection. The color wonderfully natural with earthy lighting over the image. Great detail as well. Bet they smell divine! Thanks for sharing!
