LOVE it! I never knew their tongues had the textures that you have captured. Cool! And you have certainly captured the moment and the character of this bossy goose! Great bg and perfect eye. Colors are natural with a bit of vibrancy. Love seeing the textures in the feathers. Great work! Thank you for going after a different take!

How in the world, did you observe all these functions of that highly specialized, intriguing tongue!
Superb up close & verrrrry personal!
Sharply focused facial details, special features and smooth textures.
Ideal off centered framing wit ample front space for movement...
Subdued lighting enough to give that slight glint on his wide eye to coincide with that gaping mouth reaction as you're approaching him!
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

A 3 star requires a lot of work...camera techs.
When less than is given..there needs to be camera techs offered...or editing tricks on how to improve.
Praising the work then rating less than makes no sense.
Shake it off Grace. It's the only postings of a Canadian Goose showing the spiked tongue on far.

Nice photo. Like how aperture was used to bring the focus to the beak area and tongue since this was the the whole subject of the photo. The hue of the background highlights the subject very well, also.
