Interesting reversal of focus to create the soft frame of the leaves. The overall impression is that of peering into a secret place, and the reward is the white bird (egret?) in the shadow. Quite nice.

They might have liked it better if the leaves in the foreground were slightly more in focus. Maybe they thought it was too blurry. I happen to like it.

I think you got a very nice effect by blurring part of the image. It is clear that the bird is your main point of interest. I just wish that you did a close up of the bird. I think keeping the bird so small diminishes its importantce
