This is what I told that newbie who gave a lower rating because I added a human subject to my devastated wharf post...

She wants to see landscape sceneries with no distractions.

But just imagine this without bird? Lonely & monotonous!

Subdued lighting!
Off centered framing looks better as opposed to centered.

Thanks for sharing...

Nice shot of this bird who is trying to blend in. I would of cropped a bit more on the right side to make it more centered.

The backlighting is very nice on the leaves but leaves the bird in deep shadows. The composition is attractive and I like the look of the leaves against the clear blue sky.

Are you sure it was a blackbird? That beak looks pretty orange/red to me! Nevertheless its a nice nature shot that you have presented here! Its well composed, sharp and has good exposure. Nicely taken!

    Nik,
    Thanks a million for your review. I heard the Blackbird before I saw him up in the Mulberry tree. The male Blackbird has a egg yellow bill & jet black plumage, the female is dark brown with a dark beak.
    The setting sun gave the beak in this picture an orange tinge...I took several pictures this was the best.

pity the bird is so blur and dark, he is hardly seen in the frame

nice use of the sky as background and good focus on the leaves and branches

thanks for sharing

A lovely shot taken in great lighting capturing this blackbird in full song up on his perch in this tree. Lovely clarity and colours and good angle & perspective. Great shot.

    Thanks a million for your complementary review.
    I was supposed that it came out as well as it did as I was shooting against the sun.

a very good off center framing of this blackbird perched in the mulberry tree;
sharp focus and good contrast with the bright leaves;
