Wonderful composition. The color is spectacular. Thank you for the background story too. I think it is a lovely flower and I agree that is would be a nice site to see after a very long winter.

I think that's exactly why I find it so pretty ES.....the first flower after months of snow. Do appreciate you checking it out and thank you for the lovely review you've given it.

Love that bright pink and the dusting of white on the pedals; that little green leaf at the end adds a nice bit of contrast and helps it all jump out more; good focus on the stem and blooms; our oriental lillies are doing good so far at our house. Take care.

Sounds like you are located in a "anti-bloom region of the world. Here in our part of the UK flowers have been blooming for about 6 weeks! Your shot here is well composed, sharp and has good exposure!

Oh there will be TONS of blooms Nik but northern Vermont is known for long, harsh winters. We're just getting going here for spring. Do thank you for checking out my new post and giving it a really nice review.

Very pretty shot. I like the bright colors of the flowers and the wonderful detail too. The blurred background really makes it stand out. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful colors. I like the way the photo was cropped and the almost canvas look to the purple in the flowers. The muted background makes a perfect natural backdrop!

You're right Joe....the flowers are very thick and waxy...giving them an almost canvas-like look. Do appreciate you checking them out and thank you for a lovely review.

The first flowers after a long and snowy winter are always the best. A beautiful flower that would look great with an oriole perched between the two clumps of flowers. Very nice colors and an excellent square presentation.

lol....spoken like a true bird guy mm! I've had a flock of wild Turkeys around here the past few days.....driving my dog CRAZY! They are the most ungainly looking things when they try to fly away. Anyway, thanks so much for having a look at these and you are sooo right. They may not even be the prettiest flower I grow but boy do I appreciate seeing them in spring!

Hello Peglegdeb

I like your dog and your image. This bloom reminds me of the Orchid I have. Single limb with blooms clustered along it.

I like the shallow depth of field. It provides an interesting background but does not compete with the subject. Even the subdued colors match up well.

The image is very nicely focused and the colors are very rich and pleasant. The light is evenly distributed across the entire image.

This is a well done piece of work and I do like it.

Thank you for sharing.

Roger

Well thank you Roger. That's Finnegan w/ me.... snow-shoeing. First time I'd ever used the timer on my camera....only way to get a 'selfie' w/ a camera. Thank you too for the thorough review of my new post. There's lots of these little flowers on this shrub (the color in the background) but I wanted to show the detail of just a couple of them. Do appreciate you having a look!
