I really like dramatic looking skies like this, and you have indeed pictured this scene well. It is always a special light in weather conditions like this, and I like the way the sky is mirrored in the shiny water.

Your photo is of course also nice and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen all over. I also think the exposure is spot on.

I like the panorama format you have cropped the photo into, and I think it is a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

    Annie,
Thanks a million for your thoughtful & detailed review. It was a dramatic scene to watch unfold as the storrm came in over the Irish Sea, Dublin Bay & the mountains behind before it broke & the heavens opened all with in the space of one hour.

Wow, if there's a storm brewin' then that's the one!! amazing shot of this huge cloud formation encompassing the harbour and the mountains beyond. Amazing DOF and great panoramic view shot with good clarity, capturing the boats on the water, the harbour side and the ominous clouds perfectly with good colours too - great shot.

Thanks a million for your great review & kind words, it was amazing watching it come in over the Irish sea from Wales , over Dublin Bay, the harbour, the town & the mountains all in the space of fifteen minutes before the heavens opened & I just closed the car door to drive off from the town end of the pier opposite to where, this picture was taken.

Oh wow, what a wonderful capture of this storm. I really enjoy the power in the angle to the shot - gives the storm grand power. Great natural color and lighting as well. Fabulous focus. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing!!!

I think this is a spectacular photograph. I like the way the clouds look almost as if they are funneled over the bay. It is amazing how it can storm like mad and then all of a sudden look as if nothing happened at all. Nice work.

I would like to give this a 6 as it looks so dramatic! We have been there a number of times. Being Brits rain is a constant topic of conversation!!. Like your fine composition, the image is sharp and well exposed. Nicely done!

    Nik,
Thanks a million for your complementary review. It was very dramatic that day watching the storm coming in over the Irish sea from Wales over my head as I walked the pier & then as I got into my car to drive home the heavens opened & it lashed for an hour solid, the sun came out the clouds blew off & looking up at the sky there was not a cloud to be seen.

    Mark,
Thanks a million for your complementary review.
It was very dramatic to watch the clouds roll in from over the sea behind me in this photo.
As I got to the other end of the pier & into my car the heavens opened & it lashed rain for a full hour.

A sharply focused panoramic capture of this enclosed wharf which look like a safe refuge during harsh weather.

An artistic Presentation.
Monochromatic colors with dramatic cloud formations.

Excellent details & features. Impressive setting & textures.

    Dick son,
Thanks a million for your great review & kind words which are much appreciated.
It's Dun Laoghaire Harbour with lots of Pleasure Boats in it. When it was built in the 1800s much larger ships docked here.

A very fine scene. The boats are all remarkably sharp and I like the contrast in the sky. The clouds are fantastic and deserve to take up the majority of the frame.

    Neil,
Thanks a million for your great review on the calm before the clouds burst.
I almost got soaked as the heavens opened as I got into my car just ten minutes after this photo.
