What an exquisite flower. I just fell in love with it....staring at it for....OMG 11 minutes....I cannot afford to look that long especially since my computer time is so limited. BUT seriously I really love this flower. You did an excellent job capturing it...the checkerboard pattern on a flower....I have never even heard of such a thing let alone seen one. I would love to get some seeds and plant some in my garden. Any ideas where I could get such a thing (hint hint nudge nudge wink wink)? You did an excellent job with this photograph. I am surprised it did not make it to photo of the month contest....but your other one did which I voted for by the way....and funny thing is...this time it did look more orangy than red.

But I still love this one. Everything about this photo is top notch. THIS IS A WINNER of something in my book (chuckle chuckle). Thanks for sharing. PS I always admire your writing too....telling all there is to tell with your artist's notes. Very informative. I have been learning a lot from you throughout the months of your flowering photography. I thank you for that.

    First Katharina- thank you so much for voting for my 'Spring Symphony' You're a PEACH! lol....I suppose I should check on it and see how it's doing.

    Second- no seeds here Toots....so sorry. This one is a tiny little bulb. Isn't it the coolest little flower ever though?? I just adore these little guys. Now, you could order some of these on-line or through one of those flower-catalog places. I can try to find where I ordered them from. I know I have it in my notes for this flower.

    Third-thank you so much for your comments re: my notes. I have a copious amounts of notes re: all my flowers. I can always find some interesting little tid-bit to share on whatever one I post.....perhaps I get carried away sometimes lol....but oh well...and

    Finally- You give the best reviews. Please feel free to review any of my pieces- whenever you like! and a huge thank you for sharing a gold star w/ this one. You are a doll for that and I do really appreciate it.

Such a pretty flower. Love the color and detail in the petals. I will have to plant some myself. Good framing. The soft back is a nice touch. I like the lighting . Thanks for sharing this .

I have never seen checkered lillies before, those are crazy beautiful! So is the photograph. Great crop and exposure capturing the details in the checkered flowers. I like the green natural background behind the color. Awesome work.

    The more unusual they are the happier I am to include them in my gardens Joe and these little guys are definitely one of the most unusual flowers I grow. Thank you so much for checking them out and especially for the wonderful review you've given them. Do really appreciate it.

Very pretty flowers with an unusual pattern on them. They go well against the dark green background. They are centered well in the photo.

    There's a faint checkerboard pattern on these flowers MK....that's why I titled it that way. Do appreciate you checking (lol...get it???) them out and thank you for the fine review you've given them.

bell is very obvious; much less checkerboard or snake head;
a wonderful close up deborah with fantastic sharp details of the pattern on the petals;
excellent techs all around;

    aww...you're a doll sg....read all the notes. Thank you....I always hope they're not too much. I remember being surprised when I first read that lepers were forced to carry bells....tough days back then huh...but I agree- the bell is pretty obvious.

    I always look forward to your thoughts on my flower images but have to say you outdid me w/ that monster flower I reviewed a little while ago!! lol So thank you for having a look at this one and a bigger thank you for the gold star! I do really appreciate it sg.

Well, so much for your guarantee to only post crappy photos. I Knew I couldn't trust you! This is another really great scene Deb. I love the way you worked this one. The sharpening really did the trick. The background totally sets the flowers to the forefront. Fantastic colors. Great job buddy (I still don't trust you ; )

    ahahaha...thought of you when I posted this one Steve. It was very frustrating b/c of the noise I kept getting w/ the upload but after spending so much time sitting on the ground w/ these little guys.... never mind the fact that Comanche totally wiped them out in her mad dash to shoo the Turkeys away lol....I decided to post it anyway. If the sun stays out for a few days I have some perennial GERANIUMS that might get a new name ('Steve's Flower') later this week!!! Stay tuned buddy!!!

    Well if Comanche sits on them then I think "Steve's Flower" would be most appropriate : )

    lol...if Comanche does in anymore of my flowers I will brain the little girl!! One more summer and I figure she'll be old enough to show them a little respect.

    I remember you telling me exactly the same thing some time ago Brian. Then, as now, I was doubly flattered that you checked out my post (it was also a flower..lol). So seriously I thank you for sharing a gold star w/ my little guys here and hope I'll be able to tempt you to have a look at another one sometime soon.
