It almost looks like a parent and child preening in tandem! I really the dark background that contrasts the ground and birds. Great crop and exposure. Nice work!

there are about 22-25 white pélicans, some much smaller; very likely juveniles

A superbly composed shot. The arched necks of the pelicans are almost congruent. Great lighting and beautiful detail in the white plumage. These birds seem to have less of a pouch beneath their throats than the pelicans I see.

A wonderfully timed shot capturing these wonderful giant birds both mid preen - putting them both at unusual angles that gives a nice alternative view of them and their posture. Well centred and with great clarity and DOF - great shot.
