Good Morning Again Deborah

I like the way you have presented the subject bloom by using a shallow depth of field and relegating the supporting blooms to a supporting position.

The subject bloom is bright and clear and crisp with a small center I guess that is red. It just enough different to gather the point of concentration. Very nicely done.

Thanks for this one

Roger

I rarely put together images Roger that contain more than one blossom.....I like to show the finer details but these guys grow very closely together and on a breezy day like it was it's almost impossible to get a single flower w/o including it's neighbors...lol So....do appreciate you going back and having a look at these guys and thank you for the lovely review.

Even though you received All Time Best for this photo already, I must review it simply because it is a little tethered and raggedy just like I am....but I guarantee you that your little wildflower DOES indeed look a lot more lovelier than I do. I love wildflowers even if grown intentionally and this one is not exception. The soft pastel color and its tethered look is what actually makes this beautiful beyond compare and since it is the only one in bloom it has taken over your garden even if only for a brief moment, to share its beauty with you in order for you to bring it to the attention of us. Its a lovely shot...I love where you are standing in order to get this shot and have the other similar blooms all behind it, rather to its side. Everything about this shot is top notch and I enjoyed reading your artist's notes. I love your photos....I wish I could rate more but access to a functional computer has diminished and my time on a computer when I do manage to find one I could for has diminished considerable as well. One day I will be back in full force once I get my own computer again.....Thanks for sharing.

awww Katharina....such a heartfelt review. You're a doll for going back and having a look at this little flower. I am always so pleased to have you review one of my pieces. I really hope you get your own computer again and it makes it extra special that you checked out one of my posts on a borrowed one. Thank you Toots for your time and for just a lovely review.

    MY PLEASURE.

On a separate note....I have been practicing taking pictures of blooms and one day when I get the courage I will post one dedicated to you....but you must tell me how I did....good or bad....okay.

Beautiful shot! I think the common name reflects the appearance of the flower. You capture great detail in the flower. I am the last person to offer criticism. However, the flowers in the background detract from the star. A good friend once told me she uses a piece of black card stock behind some flowers, to really make them pop.

These little guys grow together in a small patch Bill and the slightest breeze sends them all fluttering....so while I typically prefer showing a single specimen these guys were just not having any of that....lol Interesting idea to use card stock to block out the 'intruders' I'll have to remember that. Do appreciate the tip....the wonderful review and, of course, the gold star. Thank you so very much for all three.

These are nice looking flowers. I think their unusual shape is attractive, and you have done a nice job showing off the shape of the petals by using just the right angle. The depth and colors are nice; the background colors have an attractive richness. The darker pink shade through the petals makes a lovely design.

Love the commentary on this post; it really does look a little "ragged"! Dainty and a bit tattered looking, it is a beautiful flower. Great detail, lighting and colors !

You're a sweetie Mama M for going back and having a look at this one. Patiently (not really lol) waiting for more early spring flowers to actually blossom. Always appreciate a review from YOU so thank you so much for another really lovely one.

A very nice look at this beautiful flower. Good depth of field to make the flower stand out against the out of focus background. Wonderful lighting on the flower.
