A wonderful shot of this song thrush having a little sing up in the branches of this tree - lovely light blue sky backdrop and lighting, and good positioning for the shot captures the bird nicely centred and with good clarity, showing it's features (and those of the tree!) nicely. A nice well timed photo, great shot.

Thanks a million for your great review. It was one of those lucky shots that turned out much better than I thought it would shooting against the light & at full zoom...the Thrush was at least 50 to 60 feet up in the canopy of the Hawthorn/May Tree.

A visually balanced composition with a chirping subject!

Semi silhouetted against a bright background but details & textures are still fairly recognizable.
Not glaring...

Slightly centered positioning.

Sharply focused.

Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

It is not often that a photo featuring a bird woks when the bird is away in a tree, but your photo woks well. The detail and colors of the bird are nicely defined so that it stand out well from the sky. The branches like a two sided frame seem to emphasize the bird further.

    Cleo,
Thanks a million for your great review.
I was surprised it came out at all as it was so far away up on top of the tree.
I found the Thrush singing there again this evening but the photos I took were not suitable to post as the light was very poor.

A beautiful scene in which you capture the elegance of the thrush's song in the simple lines of this well composed image. I like the colors and the semi backlighted look.

The feel of early evening is magical. The details are still there but just softened by twilight. The hazy blue sky and the foliage fills the scene well.

A photo of this bird. He is up there and nice you showed it with the sky showing. I like how the tree branches are fanned out to see the sky.

Your camera settings are spot on perfect for this lovely bird.

The shutter speed has captured this avian absolutely motionless. Thereby rendering a very sharp and clean image.

All the foreground elements are well framed and well seen - if a little dark.

Color range is wide with good background light.

Using the sky as a backdrop for birds is a natural pairing - well done.

this is a very pleasing to look at capture ... B-)) Bob

Nice initial impact on the viewer. You can tell he is singing. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of the singing bird with rich sky view and sum is great. The capture of the light is great.. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.
