Nice work. The framing is well done. You can see them close enough, but still in their surroundings as well.
The light on their feathers is good too. Nice.

Happy now? I gave it 5 stars. If I have to give everything I like 5 stars, what is the point of reviewing? Its a nice image, but it didn't entirely wow me.

Please go and read the rules for reviews. I really don't care but I do like to know how one really feels about my pieces. I am serious about them. If you consider it a good shot, it should get 5 or above. If you feel there is something that can be improved upon, then you give reasons along with the less than five.

Good initial impact. Great detail and colors in both the birds and the background. I have watched Herons build nests so I am familiar with the process and this tells the story very well.
You have done very well with this image.

A very nice capture of this interaction. Him with his stick and her with her critical eye...they make a fine pair. Very good detail in the white plumage and beautiful colors.

Your colors are natural and your light is playing an important part of this scene. The simple color scheme of greens and browns in the bg give these two a perfect stage for their interaction.
