Love the wingspan on the Blue Tit showing movement Susan.
I am ignoring my wish for stop action sharpness because this guy took off just as you were hitting the shutter.
Very cool Capture of the 3 birds.

Sange,
Thanks a million for your great review,,& kind words.
I keep hoping I'll capture a bird in flight with each wing feather in sharp focus.. Not easy with these fast moving Blue Tits they twist & turn in flight almost at the speed of a Hummingbird. In fact I once captured a Hummer in flight with a Kodak 110 point & shoot pocket camera...it was a complete fluke. Sadly the film was spoilt in processing for prints. I'll keep trying & one day...

I understand.. you need a shutter speed of at least 1/2500sec.. but I prefer 1/3500sec or 1/4000

Generally I am not a fan of clutter in a photo but somehow it works in this shot. Such a springy feeling radiates from your photo. Greenery, flowers, feeder and birds make me envision being in a beautiful garden atmosphere. The bird in flight is positioned perfectly. Very pretty:)

this photo is too busy and too bright, also the bird on the foreground is too blur and distracting

Galia,
Thank you it's a pity you were not here to control the birds & the weather.

A lush and lovely photo! The goldfinches are in perfect focus and the colors work well with the overall "landscape." The blue tit is definitely a bonus! What thrill to have him appear at the right time.

The scene is full of activity and color. The activity is a bit flighty but I love it. Your capture of the in-flight bird is great. The garden background adds light and depth; Nice shot.

What a shot, Susan, a probably difficult to capture and focus in order to catch all three at once. I think you did a bang up job. Composed and framed nicely with just enough garden to set the environment. Two out of three in perfect focus and sharp details -

Thanks a million for your great review.
There are Four birds in all, three on the feeder & one in flight. The Tit took off as I clicked I had no idea what I had got until I looked back on my pictures.

Oh I see the other one now. Had to zoom in. You did good. Not a scene to go uncaptured.

A very nice shot with just enough depth of field to keep the flying tit in good focus. I have been trying to capture small birds in flight lately and have found that an ISO of 1600 is helpful. A nice shot with sharp detail and beautiful colors.

Mike,
Thanks a million for your complementary review. This was a complete surprise to catch the Tit in Flight, If I'd planned to get it I'd have missed out....It was only after reviewing my shots that I realised what I'd actually captured.

What a very busy bird feeder you have. You have captured a wonderful shot of the bird in mid flight with it's full wing span. Lucky you to see all this in the morning.

Looks like your bird community is just the same as ours! Blue tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits all over the place! Your fine composition allows us a very enjoyable look at the scen. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done!

Nik,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on these Blue Tits & Goldfinches. There were Great Tits, Sparrows, Robins, Bullfinches, Blackbirds & Starlings in the garden at the same time.
We have more or less the same birds in Ireland as you have in England but the only Owls we have are the Barn Owl.

Did not know about the owls!

Oh another interesting still motion capture!
The wings registered motion blur.
Verdant background lends a soothing & refreshing effect!
Natural setting, colors, textures, ndnsaturation.

Dickson,
Thanks a million for your great review.
The saturation is right for a cloudy day in Ireland.
