These colors are striking and have a lovely vibrant and uplifting quality to them. Your exposure is spot on and the composition is attractive. You have captured the brightness of the yellow along with the deep richness of the reds perfectly.

Very beautiful and sharp image of your Canna flower. Very much appears like a butterfly in flight that enjoy. Appears also, so abstract due to like you say a symmetrical.Very well done and Thank You for sharing.

Thank you very much for your kind review. Indeed it could be a butterfly or maybe a bird.

Very grand exposure - the colors are richly natural and the lighting ever so perfect. Great focus as well with absolutely fabulous detail. I think the placement in the frame of this bloom is just perfection. Well done, thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

lovely colours, interesting specimen,, looks like its a little bit deviant from a normal lily, I like the green background, so natural looking and buds at the side of this flower waiting for their turn

Thank you very much for your kind review! The common name Canna-Lily is misleading. It is actually not a real lily. Canna is a plant-family all by itself.

Nice capture. The angle of the shot of the colorful flower is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Lovely flower. The colors are vibrant and the patterns on the petals are well focused, Lighting is good, background is a little busy and moves my eye away from the beauty of your flower. But I love your photo. thanks for sharing.

A striking blossom and one I've not seen before. The irregular shape adds interest and the rich green background showcases the flower nicely. Good luck in the contest.

I prefer mine in a pot. The rich yellows potted with bright pinks is beautiful. The notes are helpful and informative. I may have cropped it a bit tighter but that is just me. Great background to help pop the star of the shot.

Thank you much for your kind review.
In a pot? Several of them?Interesting. Do you have dwarf hybrids. I never heard of small species.
I don't think that the plant in the photo could be potted because the roots and rhizomes break the pots in a few weeks. The stalk in the photo is taller then I am and there are several to the rhizome which is at least a yard wide.

I was trying to be funny about the reference of eating the tubers. No I do not have any tropical.

Oh, sorry I misunderstand. It's funny about eating the tubers, but I thought you mean the flowers. Ha,ha.

Obviously, the colours are a big part of the subject, & I like how the yellows & reds turned out.

Cropping worked well to bring the subject to feel more close up. The DOF is nice, but I may have used a wider aperture. Not a criticism, but just a comment.

Thank you for your kind review and your input. Which aperture would you have used and how would this aperture improve the photo? Wouldn't the photo have to strong light?

This is a most unusual flower and I dare say a challenge to photograph well. You have met that challenge well.

Flowers like this that such irregularly positioned petals can be difficult.

Your DOF has captured ll the details of this blossom quite well including the unopened ones just behind.

Color. contrast and lighting all help greatly in bringing this shot to its best presentation.

Well done ... B-)) bob
